So, you want to go someplace to help improve your fitness. Gyms are actually a great option for this. They are stocked with more machines than you could possibly have at home. Gyms also have a helpful staff that can assist you. What can a gym staff assist you with you might ask? Well….

A gym staff can help you set realistic goals for your personal fitness. Gym staff can show you the proper technique for specific exercises. It does you no good to blow through 1000 reps of an exercise if you’re doing it in such a way that you minimize the impact those reps have on your target muscle groups.

In addition to machinery and staff, there are several boosts to your fitness that you can only get in a gym.  One of the biggest boosts is a mental one. You can actually change your mentality towards the activities you do by switching up the location you perform them in. Evidence of this has been shown in many tests. For instance students who study in bed have a harder time sleeping in that bed; and people with a TV in the bedroom suffer similar sleep problems. Working from home is an ineffective method unless the worker has a dedicated home office. The list goes on and on… so when thinking about a gym membership, remember that if you go, the membership will be worth it.
