Personal Fitness

Personal fitness is an important aspect of your daily life, or rather it should be. You see, our bodies are adapted for a higher level of activity than the daily routine of getting up, going to work, and coming home gives us. That is one of the biggest reasons America is an obese nation. We simply don’t exercise enough. With as little as half an hour of moderately intense exercise a day, you can vastly improve your health.

What does moderately strenuous exercise mean? Well in terms of personal fitness, it should elevate your heart rate for that half hour period. So if your resting pulse is 70 beats per minute, you should increase that rate, even as small an increase as 10% is effective exercise. This means you don’t have to be rocky and run stairs, tow cars, and jog in place to stay in shape.

It means you can do things like take a walk in the park, or play catch with your children. These personal fitness activities will boost your heart rate without making you feel like you want to keel over from lack of breath or a heart attack. After all, the idea behind improving your health is to improve your quality of life, and that should be an enjoyable activity, not one you dread.
